My dogma and bias -

Who's the 1st winner of Sprint Race and Feature Race ?

Round.1 Brands Hatch, Great Britain

Day-3(Warm up, Sprint Race, Feature Race)

Title : Sprint Race results

The grid positions for the Feature race for the A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Brands Hatch, Great Britain have been decided following the first race in the World Cup of Motorsport.

The first retirement in A1 Grand Prix went to Dutch hero Jos Verstappen who spun out on lap 1 and despite making it back to the pits was not able to continue.
The outcome of the race determines the grid position of the Feature race which will start at 15:00 BST with a standing start. The Feature race will be run over 100 miles (36 laps) lasting up to 60 minutes in duration.

Comments:
A1 Team Brazil, Nelson Piquet Jr: "I am really really happy, it feels like my first race win. I am especially happy after all the effort the team put in in such a short time to bring it all together. Obviously I am happy to be the first driver to win the first race of a new championship. I want to say thank you to Sheikh Maktoum who has created this beautiful show and the team as everything they did was perfect. The only way I could have been more dominant was by opening a larger gap to Alex but he was quite close to me for most of the race and our pace was similar."
A1 Team France, Alexandre Premat: "I got a really good start behind Nelson and was able to overtake Matt into the first corner. I think it was really important to start just behind Nelson although he was really fast and obviously it was really hard for me to overtake. I think our lap times were quite close but on a fast circuit like this it was hard for me to overtake him."
A1 Team New Zealand, Matt Halliday: "At the start I wanted to come across behind Nelson but there was no gap as Alex was right behind him and it was impossible for me to fit in there. I slotted into third and for us in the first race this is fine as it was not worth taking a risk or doing anything silly and then having to start race 2 from the back of the grid. I am sure all the people back home are very excited as we have a good motorsport heritage."

Title : Feature Race results

25 A1 race cars thrilled spectators and television viewers worldwide as they took to the historic Brands Hatch circuit for the first A1 Grand Prix of Nations. In an action-packed race, nations jostled for position each trying to earn their crucial first points in the World Cup of Motorsport's opening round.
A1 Team Brazil took first place securing themselves 10 points and a $300,000 share of the prize fund but it was by no means an easy win for the pole starter who had to battle for first place with A1 Team Australia.

A1 Team Brazil secured the meeting's bonus point for the fastest race lap which was set on lap 30 of the Feature race (1:16.547 / 183.4kph).

Comments:
A1 Team Brazil's Nelson Piquet Jr: "We had problems with the pit stop and Power managed to leave in front of me so I got a bit worried. My team told me to push very hard until the end so I did and eventually managed to overtake him which I never expected. The car was really good, excellent in the second race and I could have pushed much harder if I wanted."
A1 Team Australia's Will Power: "I'm happy with second as it is a really good result for Australia to be on the Podium. At the end of the day we weren't quick enough to win it and it would have been hard to keep Nelson behind me the whole way. I suffered from oversteer but I tried to do neat and consistent laps. When Nelson passed me it was a very good manoeuvre at the end of the day he was by me and there was no use banging wheels."
A1 Team Mexico's Salvador Duran: "I think we were very quick but I had two cars in front of me who had been lapped making it difficult for me to pass. I managed to keep Matt behind me which was hard as he is a very good driver at the end of the day it was an awesome result for Mexico. It was a first for me as I have never done a pit stop."

Points are awarded for both the Sprint race and the Feature race while the $1m prize fund is shared between the top 10 finishers for the Feature race only.

1st place 10 points $300,000 2nd place 9 points $200,000 3rd place 8 points $150,000 4th place 7 points $110,000 5th place 6 points $ 80,000 6th place 5 points $ 60,000 7th place 4 points $ 40,000 8th place 3 points $ 30,000 9th place 2 points $ 20,000 10th place 1 point $ 10,000
There is also 1 bonus point available for the fastest lap in either the Sprint or Feature race.
